There are no hidden extras required with any of our Wormeries. We supply all our Wormeries with a supply of effective Tiger Worms (Eisenia Fetida) for an efficient and trouble-free startup as well as a supply of Anti-Acid Lime Mix which you can add to the contents every now and then to encourage the best possible conditions for the worms (Eggshells do this too!). All the Wormeries also include comprehensive, easy to understand instructions full of hints, tips and helpful advice. Of course, if you do encounter any problems, we're just a freephone telephone call away!

Classic Wormeries

These self-contained Wormeries all feature a unique internal drainage system which captures the liquid feed and creates a 'sump' towards the bottom of the chamber. The compost fills the top chamber and it works well - because the worms are 'surface-feeders', so they'll always work there way up as you fill the bin - leaving their worm compost behind!

How does The Tiger Wormery work?

The Tiger Wormery Stacking Tray Wormery operates very simply and harnesses the 'surface-feeding' nature of the Tiger Worms that live inside it. As the unit fills, the worms follow the food upwards through the trays leaving behind their rich organic compost. By the time the top tray is full, the bottom tray is ready to harvest so you simply empty it and pop it back on top.

You just keep the system going and the liquid fertilizer gathers in a chamber at the bottom where there is a tap to drain it into your watering can.

The Tiger Wormery is constructed from high quality, 100% recycled plastic, with a 5 year warranty on materials and workmanship. It is available in Black and Classic Terracotta. It is very simple to assemble and can be stored inside or out. The Tiger Wormery requires only a little effort - perhaps 15 minutes a week. It will even look after itself while you go on holiday. The Tiger Wormery makes for a fantastic present for Christmas or Birthdays.

Why is The Tiger Wormery better than other multi-tray worm composters?

1) Specifically and Purposely Designed and Built for Worms!

The Tiger Wormery is purpose designed and manufactured specifically for Worm Composting. Many other stacking wormeries available on the market are made by hobbyists out of plastic boxes or crates that were designed to be storage boxes, with some holes drilled into them. Increasing the risk of Worms escaping and fly infestations occuring.

2) Stable Stand for Stable Worms!

The Tiger Wormery is an extremely stable Wormery with a specially fitted, integrated stand. Some other multi-tray Worm Composters are on legs which make it easier to topple over, or buckle under weight. With a potential 100 litres of waste being supported - it's very important for the Wormery to be stable!

3) Trays rest on the compost below, not each other!

The trays of The Tiger Wormery rest on the compost in the tray below (with the exception of the first tray) rather than on each other. Why? Well, because as the waste breaks down and the worms munch through it - the compost compacts down. If you've started adding waste to the next tray, the worms will need to migrate up. Worms can't jump! But with the next tray up always resting on the compost itself, the worms can freely move upto the next tray with ease.

5) The trays don't 'warp' when full

Some other stacking tray Wormeries 'warp' or bend when lifted when full of waste or compost making it difficult to handle. The shape of The Tiger Wormey and robustness of the plastic means this does not happen with The Tiger Wormery.
