With the Maze Bokashi Bin you can start the transformation of food waste into compost right in your own kitchen.

Using the Bokashi method, you scrape your leftovers - including cooked food, meat, fish and cheese - into the bin, then add some Bokashi bran.

The Bokashi bran contains beneficial bacteria which ferment the food waste anaerobically (without air). Bokashi is a Japanese term meaning ‘fermented organic matter’.

When full, the bin is sealed and left for two to three weeks to allow the contents to ferment. Keeping two Bokashi bins means you can continue to fill one while the other is left to ferment, so the process continues. Because the fermentation process does not produce adverse smells, the Bokashi bin can be kept under the sink or on a kitchen worktop. The lid has a silicone seal and three locking clips to ensure a secure airtight fit.
